Think of me not
as hailing
from neither East
nor West
just a dancer
out of tune
only a little
possessed
*
Who cries out as
he sees it
with neither
lull nor rest
seeking only
what is but true
with neither
trial nor test
*
Above the fret
and fever
above
the lurching
tides
above the
prancing
peacock
perched on
its very
crest
*
I care not
what they think
of it
I heed not
their
halting sighs
for some
Destiny
invites me
through
sad and
sultry eyes
*
A destiny
impels
me
in
wan and
fey surmise
to a giddy
world spun
hurtling on
to Infinitude’s
Sunrise
